We identify, evaluate, buy and sell the securities of publicly traded companies we believe are undervalued or represent an opportunity for long-term growth. In making investments we seek to exploit the difference between market price and what we believe to be fair value.
We approach the purchase of a small percentage in a public company much the same way we would approach the acquisition of a private or public company outright. We invest only when the market price is below its calculated range of fair or intrinsic value. We also believe in a strategy of concentration. We believe it is more risk adverse and more profitable to concentrate investments in companies which we have researched in detail rather than spreading its investments among numerous enterprises about which we know little.
